Hey everyone! I'm new to PC ownership and trying to improve my rig for the upcoming EU5 game in November. Honestly, I'm a bit intimidated by the idea of upgrading because it feels like I might break something and waste a lot of money. I want to get some advice on managing hardware upgrades and how to feel more confident about it. Here are my current specs:
- CPU: Intel i7-9700F
- GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 Super
- RAM: 16 GB (not sure about types)
- Storage: 1 SSD (446GB), 1 HDD (936GB)
These specs might not be enough for EU5, so I'm looking for suggestions around a budget of $500-750. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated! 🙂

I think your current PC will probably run the new game decently, though maybe not at max settings. If you’re really looking for a significant upgrade, you might go a bit over your budget. Smaller upgrades are possible, but the performance gain might not justify the cost. Are you finding your current setup limiting? You could just upgrade your GPU to something like the 5070 for a better experience!
Yeah, my system works pretty well on medium settings. Just worried about overheating since it gets loud and hot sometimes. I might look into upgrading the GPU like the 5060. Do you think upgrading just the GPU could cause any issues with bottlenecking alongside my current CPU?
