I've been dealing with some annoying PUP.Optional.BrowserHijack files popping up again. A couple of days ago, I posted about this issue after Malwarebytes detected them when my Chrome suddenly closed. Someone suggested I uninstall and reinstall Chrome, which I did. It worked temporarily, but today the pesky files returned even after I deleted Chrome again. What steps can I take to completely eliminate these files?

If the problem keeps coming back, it might be time for a more drastic solution. Consider backing up your important files, and then do a full wipe of your system. I know it sounds extreme, but sometimes it saves hours of troubleshooting. Just make sure you're not reinstalling any suspicious software afterwards!
Have you tried running Malwarebytes multiple times? Sometimes you need to scan in safe mode to really get rid of persistent malware. It can help pick up any residual files that might be hiding out. Also, make sure to update Malwarebytes before running a scan again just to ensure you have the latest definitions.
Before wiping your entire system, try downloading a bootable recovery USB from another clean PC. You can use that to run a full scan and wipe your infected system. It'll give you a fresh start without the hassle.
