I want to play videos from my 10TB external hard drive on my TV, but I don't have an internet connection. The TV has HDMI, RGB, and S-Video inputs, but no USB port. My family isn't tech-savvy, so they only know how to use a remote. I've heard that devices like Nvidia Shield or Roku require app knowledge and internet, which I don't have. Any suggestions?

You need a device that can bridge the gap between your external drive and the TV. Look for a DVD or Blu-ray player that has USB support. After you hook it up, it should display the media files on your screen, making it super simple to watch.
You could try using a media player like the one I have—it's a Mediasonic converter that connects to the TV via HDMI and supports USB drives. It allows you to play videos from the external hard drive without needing internet access.
Unfortunately, you can't connect an external hard drive directly to your TV without using an external device like a Roku or Nvidia Shield. However, once those devices are set up, you can use them offline as long as the right media player is installed. It might be easier for your family to manage videos once everything is set up initially.
Thanks for clarifying that! I’ll look into those devices.
