Hey everyone, I'm a 21-year-old computer science student with around two years of software development experience. Currently, I'm a full-time developer working with technologies like PHP, JavaScript, Vue, Doctrine ORM, and PostgreSQL. Before this, I had an internship where I also used JavaScript, Vue, Node.js, and PostgreSQL. My goal is to start working remotely for a company abroad in about 1 to 1.5 years, and I'd love to hear what steps I should take next to achieve this, as well as any technologies I should focus on improving or learning.

From what I’ve seen, many remote jobs are geared towards senior-level candidates, so gaining more experience will be key. Aiming to have about five years of experience might help you land those positions.

If you want to work abroad, building a strong GitHub profile and contributing to open source projects can really help you stand out. Also, don’t hesitate to send out lots of resumes. If you have the entrepreneurial spirit, consider creating your own app or service that could generate some income!

Yeah, totally! I've been thinking about building my portfolio on GitHub too, sounds like a solid plan.

And don’t forget, networking can open doors! Try connecting with people in the industry.

A significant number of companies are hesitant to hire international candidates due to tax complexities. It might be beneficial to look for firms that have offices in your home country as they'll be more open to remote work.
