I usually opt for YouTube videos or courses on sites like Udemy and FreeCodeCamp, but I lose interest quickly, even though I really want to pursue software development. Learning coding quickly? Well, it doesn’t really work that way. You need to be consistent and patient with yourself. When you hit a wall, stick it out! Frustration is normal, but pushing through those moments is what separates those who learn from those who just try but don’t get anywhere. Stay committed!
Starting your own project can really help! You don’t need to make it perfect—just get something working. Over time, you’ll learn a lot by tackling small tasks and eventually move on to new stacks for different projects. A lot of good programmers have a pile of unfinished projects; that’s part of the journey!
Have you thought about getting checked for ADHD? It might seem unrelated, but understanding your focus issues can really help. I struggled until I got diagnosed and started treatment. Ignoring distractions is tough but being aware of how your brain works can make a huge difference. There are tons of resources out there!
Totally agree! Knowing my ADHD characteristics has allowed me to craft better learning habits. Once I understood myself better and got some help, coding became a lot easier for me.
