I recently experienced an issue with my PC where it lost access to one of my hard drives. I had multiple drives, but the one with Windows on it stopped being recognized. After trying to open the PC after a normal shutdown, the drive was just gone. I got a new PC, but my 2 TB dynamic hard drive is now showing as unallocated. I attempted to use TestDisk, but didn't have any luck, and while DMDE shows my files are still there, I can't afford the paid version. I'm looking for any suggestions on how to recover my data effectively.

Just to clarify, when you mentioned 'made it unallocated,' dynamic disks are usually reliable as long as you haven't formatted or deleted anything outright. Did anything unusual happen before it went unallocated? If you can see your files with DMDE, that's a good sign, but I understand that recovering them in bulk would be ideal. If you haven't tried that yet, it might be worth looking into ways to access similar tools that could help with batch recovery.
First off, make sure you don't write anything new to that hard drive. I recommend trying tools like R-Studio or EaseUS Data Recovery, which are better suited for dealing with dynamic disks. If those options don’t work and the data is really important, going for a professional recovery service might be the safest and most effective route.
