I have a situation where I think I might be getting tracked. Recently, I found a suspicious pen with a USB-C connector hidden in the headliner of my car. I want to see what data is on it without risking data loss. Is there a way to safely extract the data? Also, is there anyone I can contact besides the police to help me identify this device? I couldn't find any specific info online about it, and it doesn't have any identifiable markings.

Why take the risk? If you don't recognize the pen, it might be safer to just throw it away. Better safe than sorry when it comes to potential hacking!
If you think you’re being tracked, it might be worth reporting this to the police or getting in touch with a private investigator who has experience in these situations.
Just a thought, but could it be a rechargeable active stylus instead of a tracker's pen? Sometimes, the tech can look pretty similar.
Plugging that pen into your phone wasn't a great move. You never know what these devices can do—they might fry your device or spread malware. I'd suggest not connecting it to anything valuable. Maybe try disassembling it to look for any identifiers that could help you find out more about it online.
Look closely—I think there might be an SD card slot next to that USB-C connector. If you find one, you could pull it out and try reading it on your computer.
