My mother, who's not very tech-savvy, accidentally locked her Samsung Galaxy A13 while trying to set a password for her home screen. She can't remember the password and there are super important photos on the phone that she hasn't backed up. She thinks taking it to a phone store might help since they've transferred her photos in the past. However, she's concerned about losing these pictures forever. Is there any way to recover her photos or access the phone, considering she doesn't have a Samsung account or a backup system in place?

Unfortunately, if the phone is locked and you can't get past the lock screen, recovering the photos is going to be really tough. The lock is there for a reason, and unless permission to access the photos was granted beforehand, you're pretty much out of luck. Maybe see if a local tech store can offer any assistance, but don’t get your hopes too high.
Just so you know, newer updates require you to allow the computer access to files, which you'll need to do by unlocking the phone. If she set up fingerprint or face unlock, that could be helpful, but if she’s completely unaware of that, it complicates things further.
Have you checked if she was syncing her photos with Google Photos? Sometimes things are backed up without us even realizing it. It might be worth looking into that first before trying more complicated methods.
If the photos were saved on a memory card, you might have a chance! You can remove the card, use a card reader to access the photos on a computer. But if they're stored directly on the phone and she didn’t set up any backups or permissions, then getting them off while it's locked will be challenging. It's a good reminder to always back up important photos regularly!
Just a heads up, if the memory card is encrypted, it might not work. Also, if the phone has restrictions set up, you’ll need access to the phone to transfer files.

She doesn't have any idea about that at all, unfortunately. We're kind of in a pinch here!
