I have an Olympus SP-510UZ and recently got an adapter for my xD card, but it seems that unplugging the adapter while it was connected caused some issues. Now, the card isn't showing up on my computer, and when I try to access it through my camera, it only gives me options to format or power off. I'm really hoping to recover some childhood photos that are on the card. Does anyone have advice on the best way to proceed?

It sounds like your xD card might be corrupted because of the adapter issue. First, don't format the card on your camera as that will erase the data. You can try using photo recovery software that supports xD cards. Programs like Recuva or PhotoRec can help you recover lost files. Just make sure to connect the card directly to a card reader if possible, instead of using the camera which might not be recognized properly. Good luck!
