How Can I Reduce High RAM Usage on My Laptop?

I've noticed that my laptop's RAM usage is consistently between 70-80%, even when I'm not running any programs or games—just sitting on the desktop. This is concerning as I've had the laptop for over two years and it's starting to feel sluggish. I mainly see high usage from processes like 'antimalware executable' and 'Resume(number)'. Can anyone share tips or methods to optimize or decrease my RAM usage?

Also, if you suspect malware, checking out an anti-malware guide could be useful. Just to make sure there’s nothing sneaky slowing you down.

I found that the 'Resume' process is tied to some web app features from Microsoft. If you're struggling with it, you can disable it using a tool called ViVeTool. Just download it, run it, and enter **49527529** to turn off the feature, then restart your laptop. It should help lower that RAM usage!

If you've got any heavy antivirus programs like McAfee, Norton, or Avast, they can hog resources. You might want to consider removing them and using a lighter option. There's no need to have RAM just sitting idle either—it should be utilized efficiently!

First, check how much RAM your laptop has. You can do that by hitting Ctrl+Shift+Esc to open Task Manager, then click on 'Startup Apps.' Disable any apps that aren't necessary to run at startup, as this can free up some RAM.

Good call! Also, depending on your OS, consider checking if there are updates that might affect RAM management.

It's also important to know what operating system you're using (and whether it's 32 or 64 bit) because that can affect performance. Having a precise idea of installed RAM helps too!

Thanks for the tip! I'm using Windows 10 64-bit with 8GB RAM.
