I really enjoy using my mechanical keyboard for work, but the sound of the keys is becoming an issue while my wife and I work from home. Is there anything I can add or change in the keyboard to make it quieter? Thanks for any tips!

Lube the stabilizers! It can make a significant difference in reducing clacking sounds if they’re loud when you type.

You might want to try using dampeners or O-rings. They can help minimize the noise when you bottom out the keys. If you're open to it, getting silent switches is a great option too!

If your keyboard has hotswappable switches, consider switching to silent ones. I can give you specific recommendations if you need them! Just a heads up, even without silent switches, you can go for less clicky ones like browns. They're pretty good at providing a nice feel without being too loud.

That's definitely the best way to go! O-rings can reduce the sound when you hit the bottom of the key, but I found they change the feel a bit too much for my liking.

Totally agree, browns are a great middle ground. You can barely hear me type unless you’re super close, and the sound feels more natural, which makes it less annoying.

Using O-rings really does help with sound, especially when the keycap hits the board. If you're using clicky switches, you might just have to switch to linear or tactile switches to really cut down on noise.
