How can I regain my passion for programming after a setback?

Hey everyone, I'm looking for some advice on getting back into programming after a rough period. I have experience in full stack web development but haven't explored AI or SaaS like a lot of other creators. I had a bad experience where I was scammed while selling a website, which really threw me off track for about five months. Now that I'm heading to college, I want to reignite my interest in coding and explore new areas. My laptop isn't great for Android development, so I've just started learning C++ with data structures and algorithms and I'm thinking about building TUI and GTK apps for Linux. However, I'm worried that C++ isn't a long-term viable path outside of big companies and game development. I feel a bit lost and negative about my skills, so I could really use some guidance on what I should focus on or explore right now!

It sounds like you're in a tough spot, but the key is to stop complaining and start coding! Try to work on meaningful projects that interest you rather than just following tutorials. Build something that solves a real problem; that's where you'll find motivation. Doing the hard things now will pay off in the future!

I get that advice, but I've been trying to focus on projects that interest me while learning C++. I'm not sure if that path has enough opportunities for me. What would you suggest for someone in my position?
