I recently returned from a trip and discovered a dead bug near my computer, plus some ants crawling out from it. Upon inspection, I found what looks like an entire colony inside! I'm concerned and want to know how to get rid of them without having to open my PC. I've tried keeping it on as some sources suggested heat would help, but the ants just seem to be moving upwards and aren't coming out. Any advice?

Ant traps from a store are a solid choice. They attract the ants, who then go in, have a snack, and don't come out. Just place a few around your setup and let them do the work for you.
Try placing something like a piece of bread near your PC to lure the ants out. Once they start coming out, you can vacuum them up. Just remember, ants communicate, so if one finds food, the others will follow!
That's a good idea! Just make sure to keep an eye on where they're going.
If they’re already in there, consider packing the computer in a garbage bag after turning it off and unplugging it. Seal it up and let it sit for a bit to let the ants die off. You can add bait traps in the bag if you're comfortable. Then, once you’re sure it’s clear, clean the internals carefully.
A more drastic approach would be to take the whole PC outside during a sunny day. The heat and light should encourage the ants to leave. Just make sure to blow them out carefully without causing any static damage!
It's not uncommon for some ant species, like crazy ants, to be drawn to electronics. When one ant dies, it releases a pheromone that attracts more. To tackle this, you might want to remove any dead ants and their scent traces. Getting rid of the corpses can help lessen the attraction.
What if you just sprinkled some powder near the computer? Would that help?

I tried putting honey nearby, but I'm worried if the ants die in it, the eggs will stay behind.
