I've been trying to figure out how to get my number off of Verizon's vtext blacklist. Whenever I send a message, I get a bounce back that says my messages are permanently blocked with a code (AUP#BL). My research shows that this may be due to cloudfilter.net, which seems to manage blacklists for Verizon. I've checked my mailserver's IP and it's not on any lists, and I can send texts from Gmail just fine. I don't have a Verizon number myself, but I'm using a Comcast Mobile number, which I believe can use Verizon's texting services. However, I've heard it's nearly impossible to reach Verizon for support on this issue. Has anyone had any luck getting unblocked?

You might want to know that the email-to-SMS gateways are getting phased out by major carriers. For instance, AT&T announced they're dropping support for these messages, and Verizon has also tightened their rules. This could mean that your problem isn't just about your specific number but rather part of a larger trend in the industry. If you really need to send SMS, it might be worth looking into alternative solutions like the Enterprise Messaging Access Gateway that Verizon offers, which ensures message delivery as long as you follow their terms.
That seems pretty frustrating! Why would they even want to block messages from non-cell numbers? I run into the same issues as a system admin and switching carriers just because they change the rules seems ridiculous!
