Hi everyone! I've recently made a mistake by signing into my district email on Chrome using my personal laptop as a substitute teacher. Unfortunately, this resulted in the installation of a Chrome extension called "Lightspeed Filter Agent," which I can't seem to remove because it's enforced by the district. I'm not very tech-savvy, and I'm really worried that this extension might be able to access my computer's data and activity. I want to get rid of it but have no idea how to proceed. I thought about signing out of my work account and deleting my Chrome profile, but I'm unsure if that's enough. I value my privacy and don't want my employer to see my personal stuff. Any advice on how to safely remove this extension or any steps I can take to ensure my privacy?

It sounds like you've got a classic case of enforced extensions from work accounts. The first step is to sign out of that work account in Chrome, then delete your Chrome profile entirely through the settings (Profiles -> Remove). This should clear out the enforced policies and the extension will no longer be an issue. Just remember, the extension might only see activity within that profile, not your whole PC, so losing that profile should do the trick well!

Yeah, if you're up for it, you could also consider uninstalling Chrome completely and then clearing out all Chrome-related files. After that, reinstall it and log back in with your personal account. That way, your work stuff should be wiped clean, and you’ll only have your personal stuff back when syncing.
