How Can I Request an Upgrade for the Legacy Nvidia Driver v470?

I'm currently using the legacy Nvidia driver version 470, but I'm facing some issues that are affecting the performance of my GPU. It seems like it's not operating at full capacity, and I've seen it downgrade to 4x PCIe and 2.5GTs. I'm wondering what steps I can take to request an upgrade for this driver, as it feels like my system might stop working properly with it soon. Any suggestions?

Unfortunately, the 470 drivers are considered no longer supported by Nvidia, and they aren't planning to release any upgrades. Once a driver is labeled as legacy, it means there won't be any updates from Nvidia. If you need to boost your setup, you might want to consider upgrading your GPU instead!

Just to clarify, when Nvidia stops supporting a GPU, they usually just release a final driver. So, with the legacy driver, upgrades aren't really happening anymore. It’s meant to let older hardware be used, but don’t expect any new features or fixes. You could look into the open-source Nouveau driver, but it might not perform as well as the legacy one.

If you’re looking for upgrades, I'd seriously consider getting a new GPU. Sounds like you might need something more powerful, like the RTX 3090 Ti or the upcoming RTX 5090. That could help you avoid the issues you're experiencing with the older drivers.
