How can I reset iDRAC on my Dell R520 without OS access or a monitor?

Hey everyone! I'm stuck trying to reset the iDRAC on my Dell PowerEdge R520 because I've lost the login credentials and can't connect a monitor or use the console—I'm working headless over IP. Here's what I've already attempted:

- Logged in using the default `root / calvin`, but no luck.
- Powered down and held the `i` ID button for over 30 seconds, but there was no change.
- Used jumpers to try and unlock iDRAC and reset the BIOS, but it's still locked.
- I don't have any OS access, so options like `racadm` or OMSA aren't available for me.

Is there another method I haven't tried? Do I need to get a VGA cable to connect a monitor? I really don't care about the data on this machine at this point.

Honestly, it sounds like this R520 has seen better days! If you're looking for a reset, I'd really suggest considering getting something newer like an R530. This fix doesn’t seem worth your time and effort—it might be time to just move on.

If you can power it down physically, then why not boot a Linux live CD? That way you can run racadm from there. I’m just puzzled about why you’re having trouble accessing the OS or finding someone who can do it for you.

Yeah, it’s surprising that no one can help out with this!
