I'm trying to wipe my HP laptop before passing it to a family member. I initiated a full reset, but now I'm stuck on a blue screen saying BitLocker recovery. I can't escape the screen; every time I press ESC or F11, the screen goes black for a moment and then returns to the same BitLocker screen. I've tried entering my BitLocker recovery key multiple times, but it only leads to a black screen with the HP logo before going back to the blue recovery screen. The laptop was working perfectly fine before this issue, and it's been plugged in throughout the process.

Definitely follow a reliable guide like [this one](https://rtech.support/installations/install-11/). You'll need another device to create the bootable installer since you're stuck with that blue screen.
It sounds like you might need to create a bootable Windows installation USB to wipe the drive. You can download the media creation tool on another device, then follow the instructions to create the USB. After that, boot from the USB and choose the option to wipe the drive before installing a fresh copy of Windows.
If you can somehow get into a regular Windows mode or Safe Mode, check the C:WindowsMinidump folder for any crash logs. You could zip that folder and upload it to a file-sharing site to get more help on analyzing the issue. But if you're locked out completely, the best bet is starting over with a fresh install.
