How can I resolve boot issues with my industrial laptop’s Windows partitions after an upgrade?

I'm currently dealing with an industrial laptop that has several bootable Windows partitions, each set up for different configurations to operate equipment. The main OS just upgraded from version 20H2 to 22H2, but the other partitions remain on 20H2 and none of them are booting up now. I'm trying to figure out my options here. Is there any way to upgrade them to 22H2 without being able to boot into those OSs?

Instead of trying to upgrade those partitions right now, I’d recommend creating a recovery USB drive. The repair tools on it could help troubleshoot the booting issue you’re facing.

You might want to try booting into safe mode to see if you can uninstall the new update or revert back. Also, checking and fixing the boot partition may help. Just a heads up, it's wise to have a backup of the storage device if it's critical.

Unfortunately, you can't upgrade a Windows OS that isn't bootable. If you have a full installer for 22H2, you could consider installing it directly over one of the broken partitions. Just make sure to opt for preserving your settings and apps if that’s an option.

To clarify your situation, do those partitions show up in the boot menu at all? If they do, do they attempt to boot but fail? If that's the case, I'd suggest putting in a ticket to document everything—just in case.
