How can I retrieve data from my broken phone with a cracked screen?

I've got a bit of a pickle here. My phone screen is cracked and completely unusable, and I really need to access the data inside. The issue is that a few weeks ago, I switched the USB connection settings to 'charging only,' and now I can't navigate my phone at all since the screen is dead. Any ideas on how I can recover my data?

If your phone uses a MediaTek CPU, you might be able to find a factory ROM online. You'd use a scatter file with the SP Flash Tool to "read back" your userdata partition. It's a complicated method, but it could allow you to retrieve all your data. Just be prepared that you might need to convert the raw data into a flashable format.

That sounds a bit technical. Can you give me a simpler breakdown? I’m not sure I follow all the jargon!

Have you thought about getting the screen fixed? I assume you want to keep your phone, and a repair shop might be your best bet. Another route is to connect your phone to an external monitor or TV, but you'd need a USB on-the-go adapter for that. Just some options to consider!
