How Can I Save Money on My First PC Build?

I'm new to building PCs and looking for advice on where I can cut costs in my current setup. I'm planning a dual boot with Linux primarily for coding and Windows for gaming. My current configuration is costing around $1400 and I want to avoid any future regrets about over-spending. I've included a link to my part list for reference. Any cost-saving suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

You could save some cash on the motherboard unless you specifically need features like Wi-Fi or USB 3.2 Gen 2. I got a decent AM5 board for around 85 euros. Also, consider looking for non-RGB versions of your RAM, which can also be cheaper. That extra money could go towards more storage, which is always a nice upgrade!

I do want the Wi-Fi and I'm cautious about future upgrades, but I'll definitely check out some less expensive motherboard options!

Just a heads up, the P3 Plus SSD uses QLC flash, which has lower durability and tends to slow down over time. You might want to look for a better SSD with TLC flash like the Kioxia Exceria Plus, WD Blue SN580, or others listed that perform better for longer.

Thanks a ton for this advice! I hadn't thought about the durability aspect.

To save money, consider limiting your game choice to less hardware-demanding titles. That's why many still prefer DDR4 systems. You could also think about downgrading your video card to something around $200 instead.

Yeah, I'm torn between AM4 and AM5 setups. I'm actually building without a GPU for now, so I can wait a few months to find a good card at a better price.
