How Can I Set Up Internet in My Office Away from the Main House?

Hey everyone! I have a main WiFi router in my house that covers most of it, with some devices connected via Ethernet and others over WiFi. There's also a long Ethernet cable (about 30m) running to my office that's separate from the main house. The issue is that the WiFi doesn't reach that far. I want to make my office a self-contained unit with both WiFi and wired options. Can I connect that existing long Ethernet cable to a new router or switch? Ideally, I'd like everything to work under the same account as the main house.

Absolutely! You can simply plug that long Ethernet cable into an Ethernet switch. This will give you more ports to connect devices in your office. If you want to set up WiFi as well, look for a WiFi router that has multiple Ethernet ports, essentially acting as both a switch and a WiFi router.

If you're looking to run a new Ethernet line, consider using armoured cable made for burial. It's a bit more expensive but ensures durability. Just dig a trench that's 6 inches deep and lay the cable across your yard.
