How Can I Set Up My Own Internet When My Roommate Doesn’t Want Me on Their Wi-Fi?

I'm in a situation where my roommate is blocking me from using their Wi-Fi, and I want to set up my own internet connection. I'm feeling overwhelmed by terms like ethernet and coaxial cables, and I'm not sure if I need to buy my own or if it's fine to use what's already there. Additionally, since my roommate legally owns the entire home, will I have any issues setting this up? This is my first time trying to figure out a router and modem setup, so any advice is appreciated!

You can totally get your own Wi-Fi router! Just plug it into the main router, and you'll both have separate networks. Just a heads up, though—your roommate's being a bit of a jerk about it.

Yeah, that's definitely the way to go! What internet service provider do you have? If you share a pic of the equipment you have, I can help you find a good router to buy.
