How Can I Share Internet Between Two PCs Without Additional Adapters?

I have two Windows 10 PCs that are connected to a router via Ethernet cables, but this router doesn't have an internet connection. The only way I am getting internet is through PC1, which has a WiFi adapter that connects to a separate router with internet access. However, I'm facing a few issues. Sometimes, PC1 loses internet, especially if it tries to connect through the Ethernet instead of the WiFi. PC2 doesn't have internet access at all. I'm looking for a solution to share the internet connection from PC1 to PC2 without needing to buy an additional WiFi adapter or a router that can act as a client. I'm currently stuck; sometimes they can see each other on the network, but PC2 doesn't have internet, and at other times, PC2 gets internet but then they can't see each other. Any ideas?

Before you go ahead with sharing, make sure that both PCs are on the same subnet. This usually helps with network visibility. If you're only using Ethernet, you might also want to try to give PC1 a static IP on the router to avoid conflicts. Just check the subnet settings and use something like 192.168.1.X for your devices.

Yeah, I've noticed that getting them on the same network makes a difference. But it still feels hit or miss sometimes.

It sounds like your setup is a bit tricky! Since you want to share the internet from PC1 to PC2 without adding new hardware, here’s a workaround: you could try setting up internet connection sharing on PC1. This can allow PC2 to use PC1's WiFi connection even when connected via Ethernet. Just go to the properties of your WiFi adapter in the network settings and enable sharing. This should let PC2 access the internet through PC1, assuming your network settings are configured correctly.

Just be aware that if PC1 loses its WiFi connection, PC2 will lose internet too, right? So it might not be the most reliable solution.
