How Can I Speed Up Windows 11 Reinstallations at My Small IT Shop?

Hey everyone,

I work as a tech at a small family-run IT repair shop, and a big part of my job involves reinstalling Windows 11 on various systems. The most frustrating part is waiting for Windows updates to download each time, which can take forever. I'm wondering if anyone has tips or tricks to optimize this process? The shop owner prefers to stick to familiar methods, so I'm looking for simple solutions that won't cause too much disruption. Any advice to help reduce the wait time for updates would be greatly appreciated!

I feel your pain! A few years ago, we used a program like WSUS Offline to download updates to our file server. It really streamlined the process. Also, for the long wait, consider using a clean install USB with the latest version of Windows 11 instead of reinstalling every time. That way, you won’t have to deal with all the cumulative updates right off the bat, especially if you're starting fresh.

We have a ton of USBs with various OS versions and tools. Every time I suggest using something like Ventoy, I'm shot down because it's 'weird.' It’d be great to automate some of these builds without having to constantly remake the USBs.
