I'm running into a frustrating issue with my Windows computer where chkdsk (check disk) automatically starts running on boot, counting down from 10 seconds, before I can even get to the login screen. I want to know how to completely disable this feature so that it never triggers again for any drives I connect. Doing it on a per-disk basis isn't enough for me—I need a universal fix. I also want to emphasize that I'm not interested in diagnosing what's causing this.

First things first, make sure your drives are actually healthy. Chkdsk often shows up if there's a problem. If you're good there, try holding Shift while you restart your computer from the Start menu. You’ll be taken to a blue screen with options like continue or troubleshoot. Go with troubleshoot and then select startup repair. That should hopefully sort out the issue for you.
