How can I stop my laptop from automatically resetting after Windows updates?

I'm really frustrated with my laptop constantly resetting after Windows updates. I've tried using the services.msc method multiple times to disable updates, but it keeps getting enabled again, and it's annoying to have to reopen everything after a reset. Is there a way to permanently prevent this so that I have control over when updates are installed?

First off, make sure you're clear on the difference between a reset and a restart. You might be able to manage your updates better if you look into Windows Update settings. You can choose to pause updates or even control how updates are delivered so that your laptop doesn’t restart automatically after an update.

I switched to Linux as my main OS, and honestly, it's been a game changer for me in terms of not dealing with unexpected resets. Just a thought if you're really fed up!

Have you tried changing your browser settings to reopen last used tabs? It's a simple fix for not having to find all your tabs again. Also, it's worth noting that updates usually come out once a month—does it really bother you that much? Maybe get in the habit of restarting once a week to keep things running smoothly.

You might want to explore the Windows Update settings directly. There are options to pause updates or set the system to ask you before restarting. Just keep in mind that some settings might revert after major updates, so it's something to regularly check.
