I've noticed that when the power goes out in my house, my PC automatically turns on when the power comes back. I'm guessing there's a setting in the BIOS that controls this, but I'm having trouble figuring out which one it is. Can anyone tell me how to adjust the settings so my PC stays off after a power interruption?

Check your BIOS for an option labeled something like "Restore AC Power Loss". Depending on your motherboard, it might have different names, but it's usually under power management settings. Just make sure you set it to OFF!
Without knowing your specific motherboard model, it's tough to give precise advice. Just make sure to check under the power options in BIOS for any settings related to power recovery after outages!
If you have Ethernet running to your PC, consider disabling Wake on LAN (WOL). I had the same issue before, and turning WOL off solved it for me. It's worth checking!
Thanks for the tip! I’ll look into disabling WOL.
You can also search online using your motherboard model and 'BIOS power settings'. It should give you pretty specific guidance on where to find the right option to adjust. Don't forget to save your settings after making changes!
How often does your power go out? If it's frequent, you might want to consider getting an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS). It's great for protecting your PC from unexpected power issues and can keep it running during brief outages!
My processor is an Intel Core i9-9900K, paired with an ASUS ROG STRIX Z370-H GAMING motherboard. Sorry for not mentioning that earlier!
