Hey everyone! About eight months ago, my ISP switched my IP from dynamic to dynamic (again), and since that change, none of my applications seem to work properly. I'm having issues with the Microsoft Store, GTA Online, and even WhatsApp on my PC. I've tried turning off my router for over 48 hours in hopes of fixing it, but nothing changes. Can anyone suggest a way to change my dynamic IP to a static one? I'd appreciate if you could avoid recommending VPNs since they slow down my connection. Thanks!

The best way to get a static IP is to contact your ISP directly and ask if they offer it. Be aware it might cost extra, especially if they don't allow static IPs for residential plans. It's a common upgrade for a business plan though!
It sounds like your problems might not be caused simply by your IP changing. Can you share more about the specific issues you’re facing? Just changing your IP shouldn’t cause those apps to fail.
One thing to check is your router settings. In some cases, routers have options to specify if your IP is static or dynamic, so make sure it’s set correctly. If it's looking for a static IP, but your ISP has only assigned you a dynamic one, that could be the issue and might be why you can't connect.
You might want to try resetting your modem while on the line with ISP support. They can guide you through it, and it may resolve some configuration issues. If all else fails, you could consider switching providers if they can’t help you out.
Just so you know, you don’t actually need a static IP for those apps to work. They should function fine with dynamic IPs unless there's something else going on with your connection.
Thanks for the heads up! I’ll definitely reach out to them and see what they say.
