How Can I Tell if a Power Supply Will Fit in My Case Using PcPartPicker?

I'm trying to figure out if there's a way to determine whether a power supply unit (PSU) will fit into a case just by looking at the information on PcPartPicker. Are there specific measurements or standards I should be aware of?

Unfortunately, PcPartPicker doesn’t list PSU clearance for cases. In my experience, a 160mm PSU generally fits in most ATX cases without issues. Problems usually arise with the longer 170-190mm PSUs. Just be wary if you're dealing with smaller form factor cases, as they can have unique constraints.

Does this apply to mATX and mini ITX cases too? Like, do most of them even support standard ATX PSUs?

You should definitely look at the sizes! Generally, most cases and PSUs are built around standard dimensions, similar to motherboards. But if you're designing a tool, checking individual manufacturer sites can be tricky since those specs aren’t always listed clearly on PcPartPicker. But just in case, some mini ITX cases might fit larger ATX PSUs, while others won't.

Yeah, I get that it's difficult to check everything. I'm curious too about how those size standards work with the variations.

If you're not going for a small form factor case, it shouldn't be a huge worry. Most standard cases will state their compatibility specs, which can help you out. Just make sure to check those specs, especially for compact builds.

So I should just look at the manufacturer's website to confirm what fits?
