I've been experimenting with building PCs, but I'm not an expert yet. I originally had a prebuilt setup, and after the motherboard got ruined, I switched to an ASRock B450 Pro4 with a Ryzen 5 3600. Recently, I bought a used Ryzen 5 5700G and wanted to test it, but I knew I should probably update the BIOS first. Unfortunately, I struggled to access the BIOS with my unreliable Bluetooth keyboard and an old wired keyboard. Deciding not to fuss with it anymore, I tried a motherboard I got from an Amazon return. While the motherboard powered up and the lights turned on, the CPU error light kept flashing. My case fans and GPU fans were working fine, but the RAM LEDs weren't lighting at all, even though I confirmed the RAM was functioning. I tested both the Ryzen 5 3600 and the 5700G, but encountered the same issue. After cleaning everything, I put the 3600 back in but now I'm getting zero power. I have a new power supply arriving tomorrow, but I'm concerned: did I accidentally fry something, or could my CPU have overheated? I'd appreciate any guidance, especially if it's something obvious that I might be missing!

It sounds like you still need to update the BIOS and reset the CMOS settings, especially since you switched CPUs. That often helps resolve issues related to incompatibility. After replacing your power supply, try booting it up again. If it still acts up, consider reseating all components one more time.

I hear you on the BIOS issues; it's frustrating when you can't get in at all. Once you can get it to boot, just make sure to reset the settings after updates. You'll also want to double-check all your connections to ensure nothing got knocked loose.
