How can I tell if my iPhone has a virus after seeing a suspicious ad?

I was on Twitter earlier today and clicked on a video that led me to a sketchy red Google page claiming I had a virus. There was a countdown timer for 5 minutes, which freaked me out, so I left the page quickly. After that, my phone turned off and wouldn't turn back on for about 30 seconds, but it started working fine again afterward. Should I be worried about potential malware or any actions I should take?

A virus won't usually announce itself like that. Just a heads up though, if you notice any unusual activity like unauthorized charges on your accounts, then keep an eye on it. Otherwise, it was probably just a junk ad.

Forget about the microwave suggestion! Seriously though, it's probably just a glitch. Seeing your phone turn off can happen sometimes, but if it continues, you might want to check for updates or do a factory reset as a last resort.

You're not likely to get a virus on an iPhone unless you have an outdated OS. Apple’s security is pretty solid. Just make sure to keep your device updated to the latest version and consider using an ad blocker like AdGuard to prevent these scams.

That sounds like a scam! Those kinds of ads are just trying to scare you into clicking something. Don't stress about it and just keep using your phone as usual.
