How can I transfer photos from my old iPad 2 to my Mac?

I'm trying to get my photos off my iPad 2, which is from 2011. When I connect it to my MacBook Air (M3), nothing appears in Finder. A pop-up asks if I trust my Mac, but that's as far as it goes. I can't use email to send them. Any suggestions?

Make sure your iPad is showing up in the Finder sidebar when plugged in. If not, try restarting both devices and checking your USB connection.

Have you tried using AirDrop or online storage services like iCloud or Dropbox? They could make the transfer easier if you can manage to log in to your accounts.

Unfortunately, my iCloud is full, and I also can’t log into any email accounts right now. I'm planning to check out Dropbox.
