I'm in a really tough situation and could use some help. My husband recently passed away, and I'm trying to unlock his iPhone to retrieve our precious photos and memories. I have access to his SIM card and Apple account, but I'm struggling to get past the passcode. Is there a way to unlock his iPhone without having to wipe the device?

So sorry for what you're going through. One idea is to try inputting any significant dates like birthdays or your wedding anniversary; sometimes those could be the passcode. I know it’s a long shot, but it might be worth trying. Just know that unfortunately, bypassing the passcode is nearly impossible without wiping the phone.
I'm really sorry to hear about your loss. Unfortunately, Apple usually doesn't have a way to help unlock devices that are secured with a passcode due to their encryption. The only way to access data would require erasing the device, which obviously isn't what you want. You might be able to retrieve some data stored in iCloud if he had that set up, but anything on the actual device is probably locked up tight.
I understand how difficult this is. Just so you know for future reference, there’s something called Apple’s Legacy Contact system that allows your loved ones to access your data after you pass. However, it won’t help you unlock the phone now since it requires the iCloud setup beforehand, and it doesn’t bypass the device passcode.
