How Can I Update My BIOS Without a Monitor Signal?

I recently put together a new setup with an ASUS Prime B650-Plus motherboard and an AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D processor. Unfortunately, I'm facing a bit of a nightmare because I need to update the BIOS to version 1409 for my CPU to work, and right now I can't get any signal on my monitor. I don't have an older AM5 CPU to troubleshoot either. What are my options for updating the BIOS? Am I going to have to do it blindly? Any help would be appreciated!

You can definitely try the BIOS flashback option! Also, don't forget to check the last four digits of the barcode on the motherboard; that tells you what BIOS version was included. You might be trying to fix an issue that’s not even there if the version is already compatible!

Just a heads up, the link to the BIOS flashback process is really helpful! Check this out if you haven't yet: [BIOS Flashback FAQ](https://www.asus.com/support/faq/1038568/)!

Your best bet is to use the BIOS flashback feature. It’s straightforward and could solve your issue without needing a monitor signal. Good luck!

It’s quite unusual for your motherboard not to have a BIOS that supports the 7800X3D already. Generally, boards made after the BIOS version update (1409) released back in April should be fine. Check the barcode on the motherboard box for the BIOS version it shipped with; if it’s newer than 1409, you might not need an update. If you're set on updating, your motherboard does support BIOS flashback. I found a video that explains how to use it—it's not the exact model, but the process is pretty similar. Just make sure you watch it closely!

I just got an X670 board with the 7800X3D, and I had to do the BIOS flash too. Sometimes, boards sit on shelves for a while, so they might not have the latest BIOS from the start!

I checked, and I'm on version 3067. But I’m still getting no signal on my monitor even after trying different setups. Do you think I just need to go for the BIOS flashback?
