How can I update the payment method for my AppleCare subscription?

I'm trying to switch the payment method for my AppleCare subscription off my Best Buy card. The only options I find online are about canceling AppleCare, but that's not what I want to do. When I attempt to update my payment method in the Support app, it redirects me to the App Store payment settings. The Best Buy card isn't linked to my Apple account; it just defaults to it because I initially subscribed when I bought my iPad. Is there a way to change this?

Just a heads up, the card that gets charged is typically the one listed first in your Apple payment info. I had a similar issue and ended up reordering my cards; however, I haven't been charged yet, so I can't guarantee it will work.

Did you buy your AppleCare through Best Buy? If the charge shows "AppleCare... Minneapolis, MN,” then it means Best Buy is handling your billing. In that case, you’ll need to update your payment method directly through your Best Buy account. If it were Apple billing you, it would show something like "apple.com/bill" instead.

Check out Settings > your name > Subscriptions > AppleCare+. There should be an option to update your payment info there if it's linked to your Apple ID.

Try going to Settings > General > AppleCare & Warranty. If there’s an option to 'finish AppleCare setup,' that could link your subscription to your Apple account and allow billing to your preferred payment method. If that option is missing, I suggest calling Apple Support directly—they should be able to assist you with the payment method change.
