I'm managing around 300 Windows 10 virtual machines, and I suspect they are Generation 1, which likely won't pass the Windows 11 upgrade checks. What's the easiest method to upgrade them without risking any data loss? I heard that Rufus can create a bootable ISO that skips these checks, but can this be used for upgrades as well?

What’s your specific use case for these upgrades? Typically, for a situation like this, creating a new master image would be the way to go. That said, if you're focused on bypassing checks, that’s not usually best practice.
One method that’s been mentioned is to delete the appraiserres.dll file from the sources folder. Also, when you're running the setup.exe, make sure to tell it to skip checking for updates. Just keep in mind that I’m not sure if this still works with the latest version.
With 300 VMs, I figured you'd be using some sort of automation. It might be easier to create 300 new Windows 11 VMs and then just migrate your data over. That's probably the smoother route to take.
