How Can I Use AI in Coding Without Losing My Skills?

I'm a 5th semester BSCS student who's been freelancing in full stack web development for about 5 months now. I often rely on AI to complete my projects. While I understand the code and know the purpose of each file and how to troubleshoot bugs, I worry that my dependence on AI may be hindering the development of my own coding skills. I feel that without AI, creating websites would take a considerable amount of time and effort for me to do solo. I'm looking for guidance on how to use AI effectively to help me improve my skills rather than diminish them. Any thoughts?

If you're asking how to balance AI with learning, the solution is to limit your use. Focus more on documentation and non-AI resources like Google and Stack Overflow. You're in college, so don't hesitate to ask your professors as well!

I read that and honestly, a lot of college professors aren't that helpful. But don't let that discourage you—there are online forums and resources too!

You should consider stepping away from AI for a bit. Try building projects from scratch to really hone your skills. Restarting may feel daunting now, but it’s essential for making real progress. Good luck!

Many people are saying to ditch AI altogether, but it's a tool we need to learn to use wisely—think creatively and don’t just copy-paste. If you're smart about how you use it, you can still grow your skills!

If you truly grasp the concepts, you can build the projects without AI's help. Maybe you're more skilled than you realize!

You mentioned it takes time and effort to code even basic sites. Embrace that challenge! Practice on your own. It seems like you already know what you need to do—just stick with it and push through!
