How can I use one keyboard and mouse for two systems on Ubuntu 24.04 with Wayland?

I'm currently running Ubuntu 24.04 with Wayland and have two separate systems. I'm looking for a way to control both with a single keyboard and mouse. I've already tried tools like Barrier, Input Leap, and Desflow without success. Someone suggested Input LAN, but I'm hoping to find another solution. Please don't recommend upgrading, downgrading, or switching to X11 as I'm specifically looking for a Wayland-compatible solution.

Have you thought about getting a physical KVM switch? It’s a straightforward solution if software options aren't working for you.

I've had a good experience with Synergy before. You could move your mouse seamlessly from your laptop to another system. It should support Wayland now, although it might still have some issues. I had it set up so I and my wife could both access our media PC without any hassle.

Yeah, Wayland does throw a wrench in things with software like Barrier and Input Leap failing due to its security improvements. You might want to try Synergy (it's paid) or Waynergy, which is specifically designed for Wayland. Otherwise, honestly, a hardware KVM is going to save you the most headache.
