My sibling's Samsung Tablet was stolen from his hostel room while he left the door open. He was able to use Google's Find My Device to ring it and saw it was still in the hostel area. However, after the first ring, the thief turned off the tablet. Initially, it was connected to the hostel Wi-Fi, but the next day it connected to the thief's Wi-Fi. My sibling searched for that Wi-Fi signal around the block but didn't have any luck. He reported the theft to the hostel warden and posted notices in the official WhatsApp groups. Since tomorrow is Sunday, he's worried the thief might sell or reset the tablet. Any other suggestions on how he can track it down?

He should try using the Google Find My Device feature at odd hours, like late at night when most people are sleeping. If the thief muted the device and then turned it off in a panic, there's a chance they won't react quickly enough to turn it off again in the middle of the night.
If he has an Android phone, he could download the 'WifiAnalyzer' app. It’ll help him track the specific Wi-Fi signal the tablet is connected to, which could narrow down the search.
That sounds promising! I'll definitely let him know about that app.

That's a smart idea! The element of surprise could really work in his favor.
