We're in a Microsoft-centric setup with around 5,000 users and devices. We're aiming to shift our Windows 11 PCs from being domain-joined to being managed through Intune with Windows Autopilot. Although we've got Intune ready for action and our pilot deployments went well, we still have some users who haven't adopted OneDrive yet. This makes data migration and keeping user profiles intact a bit tricky. Given the scale of the migration and all the apps involved, we're seeking the best way to carry this out efficiently and effectively. We're looking to treat this as a formal project and would love some advice on the best process to make this transition successfully.

Just to clarify your approach: Are you looking to move from Domain joined devices directly to Entra joined via Intune? It might be easier to handle this over time instead of causing potential disruptions now. Why not opt for gradual replacements or refreshes? It'll reduce the immediate burden on users and your IT team.
It's a good idea to finish rolling out OneDrive first. Once that's done, data migration will be much smoother since you'll have a more streamlined checklist for user files.
Yes, that way you can enforce the OneDrive usage without giving users much of a choice!
Absolutely, and using a Group Policy Object (GPO) to make standard folders like Documents and Pictures default to OneDrive can help too! Most users won’t even realize it’s happening.
Yeah, current users can be hybrid joined and still retain some GPO policies. Eventually, you can focus on making all new devices fully cloud-joined, which should simplify management.
