How Do I Boot Linux Mint Without a USB Drive?

I'm trying to install Linux Mint, and I've downloaded the ISO file. I followed some guides which didn't require a USB flash drive for installation, but now I'm stuck at the booting part. I've gone into the BIOS, but I don't see a 'boot override' option like the tutorials show. I've also tried accessing the boot menu using F12, but it doesn't work on my Lenovo IdeaCentre. I've switched the boot mode to UEFI, but I'm at a loss. Can anyone help me figure this out?

The BIOS just doesn’t recognize the ISO on its own; it needs it to be on an actual USB stick. If your tutorial showed a no-USB method, they might have used a different setup process or a virtual machine. Flashing it to a USB is your best gateway right now.

I’m confused about what you’ve tried so far. It seems like you’re missing something in the steps. Can you share what you've done up to this point? Because it sounds like you may need to set things up differently to see the options in BIOS.

You need to flash the ISO file onto a USB drive, as the BIOS can't read the image directly from your hard drive. You can use a tool like Balena Etcher for this. Once it's on a USB, you should be able to boot from it without issues.
