I've just upgraded to Windows 11, but I'm running into a problem where it keeps asking me to update the TPM firmware. I'm not really sure how to go about this. I have an ASUS Z170 PRO GAMING motherboard and I'm using the Intel i7-7700 processor. Any advice on how to resolve this issue?

It looks like your setup might not officially support Windows 11. Microsoft outlines that an 8th gen Intel CPU or newer is needed for full compatibility. Your Z170 board supports 6th and 7th gen CPUs. The TPM requirements might be causing issues since Windows 11 mandates TPM 2.0. Some motherboards don't come with a TPM module pre-installed, so you may need to research which TPM module is compatible with your motherboard if you decide to go that route.

If you’ve already enabled TPM 2.0 in the BIOS, that’s a step in the right direction, but it still may not be enough for Windows 11 to run properly on your hardware. Many users have ended up switching back to Windows 10 because of these compatibility issues, so it's worth considering if you keep facing these errors.

It's important to know that if your hardware doesn't meet the requirements for Windows 11, Microsoft has been enforcing a denial of updates. This might limit your experience and lead to further complications down the line. If the TPM issue persists, you might want to think about downgrading back to Windows 10 for better stability with your current setup.
