How Do I Get Started with Learning to Tackle Complex Computer Tasks?

I'm really intrigued by all the stuff I see on forums where people make it sound super easy to manipulate their computers and work with unique UI setups. For example, I often run into discussions where folks in r/piracy talk about cracking software or doing crazy things with their hard drives, and it makes me want to dive into that world too. I'd love to be able to write scripts in Notepad that help organize my files automatically, or even run a local LLM with tools from Hugging Face. I've seen people using Linux and executing simple commands to open applications like Chrome, and it seems like such a cool way to optimize a PC. The problem is, I have no idea where to begin! I know a bit of Python (like making a flower graphic) and a tiny bit of HTML. What would be the best first step for me to start messing around with my computer and learning more about these unique interfaces?

If you're looking to get more comfortable with terminal commands and maybe even switch to a more efficient OS, I highly recommend checking out r/linux4noobs. Their wiki is packed with resources that can really help you get started with Linux. You'll have a blast customizing your setup once you dive in!

Sounds great! After I finish my current project, I definitely plan to make the switch to Linux. Any other tips for things I could do before that?
