I recently downloaded the tarball for the Zen browser, extracted it, and ran the executable successfully. However, I want to know how to make Zen browser appear in my app search like other applications do when installed through the app center, and how to add it to my dock. Right now, I have to launch it every time from its directory. Any advice on doing this would be appreciated! I'm running Ubuntu.

Hmm, why not give the Flatpak a shot? It’s definitely the easier option. Just remember, if you run the Flatpak, you still need to launch it from the terminal until you get it set up in your apps. Let me know how that works out for you!
You might want to consider creating a .desktop launcher for it. Just make a proper .desktop file and place it in the `~/.local/share/applications` directory. You can use tools like Menulibre to help you craft that launcher file. But honestly, if Zen is available as a Flatpak, I'd recommend going that route—it usually makes things a lot easier!
Have you thought about using the Flatpak version instead? It simplifies installation and should show up in your application search directly without all the extra hassle.
