I'm a longtime Windows user and I've gotten quite frustrated with it. I've become really interested in trying out Linux because I love the user interface. However, I have no clue how to install it. I've watched several YouTube videos, but I'm still worried I might mess something up and possibly lose all my data. Can anyone give me advice on which Linux distribution is best for beginners and can help with coding and gaming? Thanks a bunch!

Just in case, it never hurts to have a backup. For Linux distros, Mint and ZorinOS are great ones to start with. They both have nice interfaces and are geared toward new users. Once you've picked, just follow their installation instructions online—you'll be fine!
I feel you! As someone who recently switched, I can recommend MX Linux, especially the KDE version. It's super user-friendly and has a stylish desktop environment. I've barely had to use the command line, which is nice for a newbie. Also, check out Dedoimedo's reviews on DistroWatch if you want some insights before making your choice!
First off, make sure to back up your important data either on a USB drive or upload it to the cloud. That way, you won’t lose anything during the install. If you're planning to dual boot Windows and Linux, it’s definitely possible, and you should find some resources on that. For beginners, both Kubuntu and Linux Mint are highly recommended due to their user-friendly interfaces. Just follow the installation guide on their official sites once you've decided!
Absolutely! Backing up is crucial. I used Kubuntu and it worked great for me. Make sure to follow the install instructions carefully.
Make sure to read up on the installation process before diving in! You seem set on this, and with the right distro, you’ll enjoy your experience. Check out some YouTube tutorials if you need visual guidance too. You’ll find many resources out there for Mint or Kubuntu for starters.
I checked out some tutorials and they helped a lot! I'm excited to give it a shot.
Thanks for the tip! I’ll look into MX Linux and the reviews you mentioned.
