How do I manage issues when mixing Microsoft organizations?

I'm dealing with some frustrating problems when using Microsoft services across different organizations. For instance, if someone receives a Microsoft Teams invite from another organization and they've signed into their account with my organization before, they can't join the meeting unless they use a private browser. It seems like our organizations aren't recognizing each other properly. Additionally, I have a situation where our sales team is unable to access the GM portal after they switched their identity management to Microsoft because their browsers are caching the login sessions. They can either clear their cache or use separate browsers to keep their sessions distinct. I'm wondering if there's an admin setting in Microsoft's Admin or Entra panel that can help fix these issues more effectively? As a solo SysAdmin for my auto group with over 160 employees, I really need to streamline this process and avoid common troubleshooting responses like "Have you cleared your cache?"

Honestly, using one browser for one login and another for the other can work too. It's not the most elegant solution, but it helps avoid the cache issues you're running into.

What you're experiencing is related to managing multiple Microsoft tenants, which can be a hassle. The proper term to understand here is "Tenant". Each of your users is effectively operating within different tenants, which complicates things.

Totally agree! Microsoft hasn’t made it easy to merge identities across tenants, which is where these annoyances come from.

First things first, you should check the external organization collaboration settings in both tenants. This setting controls how user interactions work between different organizations, and it could be why you're having issues with accessing meetings or portals.

Yeah, both organizations' settings definitely need to be aligned for smoother interaction.

Have your team try using Microsoft Edge profiles! This way, they can create separate identities for each organization, and it should help prevent those annoying auth token conflicts.
