I think I might have installed a virus or some unwanted software on my laptop. I had the Avast browser installed while I was attempting to download another software from Softonic. Now, I can't get it off my computer no matter what I do. Plus, every time I start my laptop, the command prompt opens and closes quickly. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get rid of this?

It sounds like that browser is bundled software, which sites like Softonic often include. You should try looking up how to remove the Avast browser specifically. It's not exactly a virus but can feel a bit like one!
