How Do I Start Building My First Gaming PC?

I've always wanted to build or get a gaming PC, but I really don't know where to begin. I've done some research and picked up a bit of info, but I'm more of a hands-on learner, so this has been tricky for me. I mainly play games like RuneScape and Minecraft and want something mid-range. My budget is $1,200 and I'm okay with either building it myself or going for a pre-built option. Any tips on what I should consider or suggestions on components would be super helpful! Thanks in advance!

I'd start with choosing the right processor. Look into Intel Core i5/i7 or AMD Ryzen 5/7, as they fit your budget. The motherboard you pick will impact what memory and drives you can use, so check for features that matter to you, like ports for storage. I usually pick the case and power supply first since their prices are pretty stable over time. For the graphics card, it depends on what you want to play. I have an AMD RX6600, which works fine for my needs but is on the lower end for gaming these days.

Make sure to allocate your entire budget for just the tower. If you start cheapening out, your PC will become outdated fast. I recommend spending extra on an AM5 motherboard and CPU for better longevity. AI support can also guide you during the build, which I found super helpful when I was starting out.

You should definitely check out pcpartpicker.com. It's great for coming up with build options and it checks compatibility for parts as well. You can also customize individual components to see what works best for your needs.
