How Do RFID Systems Work for Tracking Items in Stores?

Hey everyone! I just started a job at American Eagle, and they use a system called Radar to help locate items in the store. I'm really curious about how this RFID technology actually works, particularly how the tags are tracked throughout the store. I couldn't find much info online, so any insights would be appreciated! Thanks!

You should check out the Wikipedia page on Radio-frequency identification (RFID). It explains how RFID tags work and their general applications in tracking and identification.

I love this metaphor: think of it like you have a collection of uniquely shaped bottles. If you blow across the top of one, it makes a specific echo. RFID works similarly; instead of bottles, you have tags, and instead of blowing air, a radio sends out signals. Each tag resonates at a specific frequency, allowing your system to identify it when it passes by an antenna. Your system seems a bit more advanced than regular RFID, though!
